July working bee and tool workshop

It was cold and wet this morning, but that didn't stop a small cohort of gardeners coming out to partake in a garden tool maintenance workshop with Stephen Oram.

Folks did everything they could to keep warm.

We shuddered close together, the cold rising up through the ground and into our legs.

Stephen demonstrated the many ways a handle could be fixed, but it was hard to stay focussed with all the shivering we were doing.

We dug a pit and lit a fire, which helped thaw our bones a little.

Then the rain came down and we all dispersed to warmer, dryer places.
